Jason’s lifelong fascination with light began in the ocean. Growing up surfing, he developed an early sensitivity to the shifting qualities of natural light.  This intuitive connection led him to study light through the lens of cinematography, photography, and filmmaking.  In his twenties, Jason worked as a music video director, collaborating with musicians to create imaginative, atmospheric worlds. Constructed sets, considered lighting and special effects formed the physical elements for stories to unfold.

The creative alchemy of blending disparate disciplines continues to inspire Jason’s approach to architectural design. He thrives in a collaborative environment, where solving problems is a shared, generative process.  By leveraging the strengths of the team, Jason delivers projects that maximize potential and value.

A licensed architect in Oregon, Jason earned his Master of Architecture from the University of New Mexico.  His experience includes a wide range of architectural programs, from single and multi-family residential to wineries and mixed-use buildings. Prior to founding OLA, Jason worked with the award wining practices of Studio Rick Joy in Tucson, Arizona and Allied Works in Portland, Oregon.

Adriana’s fascination with light originates from her early work in the film industry.  As a production designer, she learned to shape emotion and narrative through atmosphere.  This early experience cultivated a deep appreciation for the sensory power of environments, and eventually led her to study architecture, where she became drawn to the ephemeral and often overlooked qualities of space-making.

Adriana brings a multidisciplinary approach to architectural design.  A practicing lighting designer with an architectural education, her work is grounded in close observation, material awareness, and a reverence for spaces that foster connection.

Adriana has contributed to a wide range of project types, from private residences to luxury hospitality. Prior to joining OLA, she founded Studio Zia, an architectural lighting design practice.  Before establishing her own studio, she was senior lighting designer for the award-winning lighting studio Concept Lighting Lab, founded by Claudia Kappl Joy, IALD, and Rick Joy FAIA in Tucson, AZ. She later joined Allied Works Architecture as a lighting and interior designer in Portland, Oregon.

Adriana has a Master of Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (Sci-Arc) in Los Angeles, California and is an Associate Member of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD).
